Biggest comeback since Lazarus

This is great.  I'm thinking Mark Latham could win over the Westies if he got nabbed for chroming in the local shopping mall.

Washington DC has a new mayor - Marion 'pass me the crack pipe' Barry.

Few political figures in the nation have shown the kind of resiliency as Barry. In 1990, the former four-term mayor was caught on tape smoking crack cocaine in a FBI sting operation and served time in jail for the offense, adding a new phrase to the late-night TV lexicon: "Bitch set me up." It also brought him many obituaries for his political career.   In 1992, just months after his release, he ran for, and won, the Ward 8 seat. Two years later, he won his fourth term.

Up to two years ago, charges of drug use continued to shadow him. U.S. Park Police said that they found him with traces of marijuana and crack cocaine in a parked car, a claim he profusely denied. The primary win virtually guarantees that he will be re-elected to the City Council in November.
